HISTORY

As a child, Salvatore Politini watched his father at work in a Sicilian winery. Now, some 60 years later, Salvatore’s Sicily meets the King Valley in Politini’s hand-crafted, cool-climate wines. 

Politini Wines was established by Salvatore and Josie Politini in 1989. Both born in Sicily, they migrated to Australia in the 1950’s, buying land in the King Valley in 1959 to cultivate tobacco. In 1989, together with their four children, they planted 12 hectares of vines to grow grapes for local wineries, later increasing this to 28 hectares. Little more than a decade later, and with an established reputation for excellence in vineyard management and fruit quality, Politini launched its own label with its 2000 vintage.
