In 2014, row 1 of our Merlot Block was stuck by lightning, very close to the house. It made the leaves of the vines turn to a beautiful but disturbing red, most of the vines in that row died as a result. In the following year the vines that survived produced a little fruit, we made a point of picking the fruit from that row, and put it in with the rest. This bottle represents a part of that blend. See if you can taste the difference?

Aroma: Ripe plum, raspberry and a whiff of cloves.
Palate: The tannins are soft silky and smooth. Oak maturation has made the mid palate, broader and given the wine an enticing vanilla sweet palate and fruity finish.
